Color Crush: Black/White/Green

As it grows warmer here in Charlotte, we can’t help but think we have officially experienced the unofficial start of summer. With that said, the warm weather has us feeling the tropical vibe – and interior designs with a black, white and green color scheme.

When I think of this color scheme, I immediately think of the iconic, banana leaf wallpaper in the Beverly Hills Hilton.

The original wallpaper – named Martinique – was created in 1942; today, it is probably one of the most recognizable wallpapers in the world of interior design.  If you feel the look of the Beverly Hills Hilton might be a wee bit too glam for you, Nate Berkus used it in his apartment in Milan where it looks so modern and fresh.

But this wallpaper isn’t required to pull off the black, white and green color scheme; there are other fresh, fun ways to create this look. Here’s a sampling of interiors that use the same color scheme.
